Keeping an Aloe Plant
Well, first of all an Aloe plant looks great and it just has so many health benefits. I’ve had an Aloe Vera plant in my house for the past 20 years and also use a few other personal care products that have Aloe Vera in them like tooth gel, deodorant, lip balm, shampoo and more.
I guess most people use an Aloe plant for cuts and minor burns by simply breaking off a leaf or by cutting a small piece of Aloe and applying the fresh gel to the affected area for instant relief to sooth and hydrate the painful skin.
I also like to use it to help me in treating my Acne because of its antibacterial properties.
Again, simply cut off a thin slice and apply the gel directly to affected areas to reduce redness, swelling and to prevent bacterial infection that can lead to breakouts to help minimize acne scars.
What are the benefits of using Aloe Vera?
Soothes Skin Irritations
Cutting off a leaf and applying the fresh gel to cuts, minor burns or sunburns is a game changer. It cools, hydrates and speeds up healing thanks to its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties.
Might fight Acne
Because of its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory powers it makes it a great help for acne.
Simply dab the gel on pimples to reduce redness, swelling or scarring. It certainly worked for me.
Easy to Grow and a great Air purifyer
Aloe plants are low maintenance, needing minimal water and it is really thriving indoors.
Aloe is know to improve indoor air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Therefore it can filter out some common household toxins like formaldehyde and benzene, which might linger from cleaning products or furniture. The plant is very low maintenance, even if you forget to water it for some time. In fact, it only needs some water every other week.
